On Wednesday, May 3, Valley Center-Pauma Unified School District Superintendent Ron McCowan announced that Valley Center High School had received a six-year accreditation from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. "This is a direct result of the hard work and dedication of everyone on campus," McCowan said in a statement. "I cannot say enough about the high-caliber professionals who commit themselves to making Valley Center High School an outstanding school for our students. And while it is terrific to receive the accreditation, it only confirms what we already know about the outstanding people we have at VCHS." Carrillo was honored by North Inland Special Education Selpa for Excellence in Special Education Monday night in a virtual awards ceremony for her tireless leadership in encouraging students to achieve their potential, enhance student self-esteem and dignity; and assist schools in providing excellent services to students with disabilities.
